Born in Milan, Ilaria Lupo got a MFA in Sculpture at Erg in Brussels. She is based in the Middle East since 2009 - Beirut 2011 .


Lupo develops a public space practice, contextual and process-based. She employs several media, performance as film as publication. Her site-specific interventions result into paradoxical set-ups, such as diversions of spaces’ functionality or unrealistic participative displays.

Her projects have been supported by several organizations, such as Ashkal Alwan, The Beirut Art Center, The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, 98 weeks, APEAL, T.A.P.
